Shuwa Arab Development Initiatives (SADI) is a Non – Governmental Organization, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting the basic human rights of, and the Empowerment of Women and Children through the provision of good and sustainable health, education and social economic development programs.

By focusing our efforts on the Shuwa Arabs we hope to establish an effective model to eradicate the age long cycle of illiteracy, strive to empower the women, give orphans and vulnerable children access to high quality education and hope for a brighter future while inspiring and supporting others elsewhere in similar circumstances.

Mission

The Mission Of Shuwa Arab Development Initiatives is to reduce poverty, ensure that every child enjoy its basic human right , give care and support to orphans and vulnerable children and emancipate the women to achieve their absolute potential through education and empowerment.

Aims and Objectives.

  1. Ensuring that at   least 75% of Shuwa Arab children of school age are given quality education.
  2. Creating awareness on health issues that affect women and children.
  3. Economic empowerment of disadvantaged women through self-help literacy and skills training programs for better livelihood.
  4. Strengthen HIV/AIDS prevention education in order to curtail the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
  5. Provide youth development and educational programs to children from the disadvantaged families.
  6. Collaborate with organizations with compatible objectives.

PROFILE

The President and Founder of SADI, Ms Amina Hassan, a Shuwa Arab from northern Nigeria runs a vibrant counseling session among the youths and women of Shuwa Arab communities and street kids in Lagos.

Hassan, a graduate of Mass Communication from the Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State, has also obtained MA in Intercultural Studies and has served in various capacities as an instructor and role model among the Shuwa Arab communities in Lagos.

The journey so far…

SADI has successfully enrolled and supports about 80 Vulnerable Children in Lagos. It provides free training and micro- credit to young adults and women in need. It has broken through the socio- cultural barrier by providing Girl-child education. SADI is also proud to be associated with providing care and support for Orphans and street kids.
